Arrest after ASIO fishing expedition

A man whose home was targeted by ASIO in fishing raids this year is facing fraud charges along with a co-accused who is linked to firearms offences.

Seems if ASIO pilfer through people's affairs they do come up with some material that they can use against the victimised in a court of law. Then they can go on to exploit the very condition they sought.

This material is intended to verify the claims made by ASIO and the propaganda is used to raises their stakes, that those who were victimized were terrorists.

At least one of those charged is an associate of Abdul Nacer Benbrika, a Muslim fundamentalist preacher. Mr Benbrika was criticised recently when he defended Osama bin Laden as a "great man". His Melbourne home was also raided, in June, by ASIO and police.

But what he actually implied was that there is no proof that Bin Laden was the culprit in his mind. Fair enough because that is what a lot of people actually think too. So what is the difference between us and him? He was raided and a fishing expedition took place in his home giving the authorities material that was otherwise private and confidential.

Fadal Sayadi, 25, and Aiman Joud, 20, both of Melbourne, are accused of obtaining property by deception, a charge believed to relate to the use of an allegedly stolen credit card, and of an attempt to commit an indictable offence.

A spokesman for the pair said they would plead not guilty.

But out comes the dirt before the trial from SMH

Joud is also charged with breaching a suspended jail sentence. He was sentenced to one month's jail in January after pleading guilty to car stealing. He was also convicted of receiving and handling stolen goods.

The cases against Sayadi and Joud are set for mention on September 6 and are expected to be heard at a later date.

Then why has his alleged priors been publicised in the Sydney Morning Herald this morning?

1) The idea is to find something on the premises that they can get their hooks into.

2) Then after the live bait they've planted today, goes off, and they pick up some circumstantial evidence to go along with the fishing expedition. Then they can manipulate and twist that information out of context to enable them to form a view based on the flimsy rules in anti-terror act.

3) Once the hook is swallowed then they can lay suspected terrorist charges down the track.......

4) Then ASIO will go down the fish shop and buy a large barramundi and tell everyone they caught one on the line! With live bait....

ASIO have raided a number of properties in Melbourne on a 'fishing expedition' in relation to a 'possible' political scare campaign by the hoWARd government, playing on the fears of all Australians... again!

ASIO and, the Australian Federal police (AFP) and Victorian police have raided a number of properties in Melbourne in relation to the alleged 'possible' political fear campaign by hoWARd and his cronies and subsequent propaganda attacks on the community by News Ltd.

A spokeswoman for the Australian Community says ASIO and friends are in contempt of the community at large and the political fear campaign by the hoWARd government is just another political witch-hunt to scare the community.

"These raids are inappropriate and show no good will by the authorities because 'ding dong' the 'wicked old witch is dead'," she said.

"Furthermore, nothing is reasonable about a raid on people's homes because for an alleged possibility. For those sorts of enquiries one should approach a 'soothsayer' and if you get the all clear only then should they approach people via the front door with the appropriate warrant to search one's home. A warrant based on concrete evidence that has been filtered by a judge or magistrate of the court to see whether the material is frivolous or vexatious."

It is 'believed' the fishing expedition uncovered information during a 10-month investigation, called Operation Pandanus, suggesting a group of Islamic extremists were planning the attacks.

But if I believed that I was going to win the lottery next week I'd strongly suggest that that belief rests on very extremely long odds. And I certainly wouldn't pledge my freedom or liberty on the outcome of my belief and at best I would only gamble say, a packet of prawn bait on winning!

The ASIO raiders are 'believed' to have interviewed up to four people in Melbourne and two in Sydney.

Neighbours of a home raided at Brunswick, in Melbourne's north, said that they knew that they were fishing because "they had News Ltd written all over them" said one neighbour.

I strongly suggest that the only extremist group is ASIO who no doubt attended survival-training camps in this country to carry out terrorist activity on our very own citizenry. After that sort of misbehaviour today it could only encourage someone to get angry and we have a couple of examples below.

Why would an ASIO 'fishing expedition' tell 'News Ltd anything'? May I suggest that these are the only loose-links that should be discussed? Police want to extend the warrants for up to two years.

Bob Carr says police will be able to gather information without revealing their investigation but says there will be safeguards. 

But there won't be any safeguards to criminal activity by NSW police or any other criminals living in the community, so how in the name of, [alleged], terrorism does that allow the autonomy of the law itself to be discarded?

Again setting the wrong example for police that they are above 'common law' and our 'federal constitution', let you be the judge?

"The Attorney-General, for example, will also conduct a statutory review after 12 months and of course the Police Integrity Commission will be able to investigate any complaints," he said.

But the Police Integrity Commission 'only investigate the complaints they want to investigate' and the community can prove it! That also sends out the wrong message to the community, let you be the judge!

That only those police complaints 'investigated by the PIC' can or cannot be proved. But those complainants 'not chosen' because some complaints are 'not investigated by the PIC' the community will never know about. The complainant suffers incredible loss and criminal or noble cause corruption continues to flourish within the ranks of the NSW Police.

Now who might that be? This is a police sting to associate people with terrorists and is reckless to say the least.

This means after police break into you home, plant evidence on the premises - to suggest that you have material, that suggests you have associated with a terrorist - you can then be classified as a terrorist associate? And be treated like a terrorist? Then be dumped into (HRMU) High Risk Management Unit at Goulburn with no fresh air or sunlight and no constructive lifestyle just like you committed one of the worst murders or mass murders in the state.

To be dragged off the street and sent to the HRMU is like being dipped into hot water and then put in a freezer. This process will affect you for the rest of you natural life and you will never ever recover from such an ordeal.

This is not community safety. Is that putting you out of the way or what? Not just that but you or your friends and relatives can be isolated for political purposes, have your communication disrupted, be subject to the anti-terrorist act and not be able to see your community member, unless you pass stringent security checks to get into the HRMU for a visit.

Truth
Who is telling the truth? Well I guess Dr. Ed. Chadbourne or Mr. Peter Ryan may have the answer to that. Dr. Chadbourne sacked by Peter Ryan and more specifically in my view because he elected deputy commissioners Dave Madden and Andrew Scipione as the best men in the service in relation to his qualifications to make a recommendation in his capacity as human resources.That is if you believe that a Dr. can be corrupted.

Honesty
What is happening between the Police Service and politics is quite extraordinary at the moment. If stand over tactics don't work tell half the truth honestly and follow the example of sheep. Another word for it is sleaze, yeah. Another word for it is workplace harassment. Another word for it is bribing a Police Officer. Another word for it is misleading Parliament.
