But was he a target? And was it a planned gangland killing? Or perhaps a more likely scenario a planned police killing? When we take into account the volume of complaints against police in Victoria lately and the pressure police are under.
Vic prosecutors to drop corruption case
The Office of Public Prosecutions in Victoria will drop drug-related charges against a suspended police officer tomorrow after an informer due to testify in the case was murdered last month. Detective Sergeant Paul Dale is currently charged with conspiring to traffic large commercial quantities of illegal drugs. He was charged along with another policeman, David Miechel and police informer Terrence Hodson. Hodson was to testify against the officers but he and his wife Christine were shot dead in their East Kew home last month.
Police seem to be at odds even to explain the discrepancies and leaked internal documents. Informers testifying against police are killed and prosecutions against alleged corrupt police are dropped.
Now the diversion:
When you see events unfolding like the arrests yesterday and the camera focusing on alleged evidence on the street, people know it's a set up. At least they can be sure that the media were in on it, to some degree, and that police made sure the population was exposed to the alleged evidence via corporate media cam.
Cops went out of their way to send a message out into the community. The grand illusion? Is it a set up? Does the community now think that all the underworld killings were done by underworld criminals who were not police? I don't think so!
One does not have to wonder, I suppose, about being protected by the police?
I wouldn't trust police. I don't know about you, I guess you could make up your own mind.
We would have thought that protection from police in Victoria comes down to the bona fide nature of police protection and whether they would protect people or rather ensure that they were put off.
Now police have charged four men over an alleged gangland murder plot after 150 police raided properties in at least six suburbs yesterday.
Simon Overland: "We think that person has taken steps to ensure their own protection [and] they seem to us to be quite adequate," he said.
"We will obviously do what we can in the limitations that we face in these circumstances. I can't guarantee anyone's safety when they are not prepared to fully cooperate with us.
I have made this point before but we think the arrangements are in place and we will certainly do what we can to ensure their safety."
Police will oppose bail when the four men, including alleged Melbourne underworld figure Carl Williams, appear in court over the alleged murder plot.
The four will face the Magistrates Court on charges including conspiracy to murder and incitement to murder.

THE DOG: Victorian police have diverted their own problem and discrepancies onto the alleged gangland murder plot using the bona fide nature of the overwhelming number of 150 police.
At first glance that appears legitimate doesn't it? Well not to us because we know a lot about police corruption.
Those 150 police are directed by senior police, some that are obviously corrupt. Therefore what we're witnessing is possibly the workings of senior police, all too ready to divert attention away from themselves and the force, onto people who would otherwise be innocent of any crime, believe it or not?
We will obviously do what we can in the limitations that we face in these circumstances says the police? I can't guarantee anyone's safety when they are not prepared to fully cooperate says the police!
Sorry that shit doesn't stick leading by the prime example of dead police informers does it Mr nice policeman sir? It is our understanding that Victorian police can't guarantee anyone's safety, when they are prepared to fully cooperate. Certainly they'll do what they can to ensure their safety?
Once again police have blown it and I think we need a Royal Commission so that people will be able to fully trust, or at least have confidence that they will be protected and not used or killed by police.
Carl Williams is the high profile scapegoat for police and easily seen to be the product of police corruption, rather than being guilty of any wrongdoing.
You could tell by his wife's concern about what was happening to him at the Police station. You could also tell that he knew he was being watched, not only by police but also by the media and in our opinion Carl was unlikely to have been doing anything wrong at the time, knowing he was being watched.
Police always have a legitimate reason to be there whether they are acting corruptly or not. If police have a track record of systemic corruption then we must be sceptical about what they are purporting to be true. Otherwise these matters have been fabrications to cover up their corrupt activity and this would once again undermine the whole community, having alleged police heroes who have set innocent people up, and who are promoted for their corruption, this would then be disastrous for the community.

I am disturbed by Governments 'actions' in relation to shuffling the police service. Clive Small seconded into Parliament like a cocky in a perch. A breach of the fundamental Separation of Powers Doctrine does not in my view allow the thought of intervening, planning, or shuffling to stack the deck of our police service. The one that suppose to be autonomous according to Lord Denning. Where the Parliamentary Secretary can ask the commissioner of police to 'report' then sack him if he is not satisfied with such report.
Truth
Who is telling the truth? Well I guess Dr. Ed. Chadbourne or Mr. Peter Ryan may have the answer to that. Dr. Chadbourne sacked by Peter Ryan and more specifically in my view because he elected deputy commissioners Dave Madden and Andrew Scipione as the best men in the service in relation to his qualifications to make a recommendation in his capacity as human resources.That is if you believe that a Dr. can be corrupted.

What is happening between the Police Service and politics is quite extraordinary at the moment. If stand over tactics don't work tell half the truth honestly and follow the example of sheep. Another word for it is sleaze, yeah. Another word for it is workplace harassment. Another word for it is bribing a Police Officer. Another word for it is misleading Parliament.
