Sedition in China report a strike get locked up

By 2008 Olympics who will win globalised union-busting industrial tyranny award?

50-year-old internet commentator had been posting information online about the Chongqing steel workers' protests, which began in August this year.

The workers were demanding that the company, which used to be one of China's top 500 industrial companies but was recently declared bankrupt, should pay them 2,000 yuan each in severance payment for their loss of employment.

The Chongqing police cracked down violently on the workers' demonstration on 7 October, reportedly causing the deaths of two women protestors. In addition, 24 demonstrating workers were injured and three of their leaders were detained the same day.

Press Release: CLB Calls for Immediate Release of Internet Writer Detained for Publicizing Recent Mass Protests by Chongqing Steel Workers

A former textile-company employee turned businessman who posted online reports about a recent series of protest demonstrations by steel workers in Chongqing has disappeared and is believed to be in police custody.

Shi Xiaoyu was taken away by police from his home in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on 20 October, according to China Rights Defenders and the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). The rights groups said Chongqing police traveled to his home in Zhejiang on 19 October and detained him, confiscating his computer and other materials the next day.

"Instead of simply 'shooting the messenger' by detaining Shi Xiaoyu for publicizing the police violence at the Chongqing Steel Plant, the Chinese authorities should instead be actively investigating reports that two innocent women died as a result of the police crackdown on the workers' protest," said CLB's director Han Dongfang. "Shi is not a dissident, and he was not even criticizing government policies. He was merely informing the Chinese public about a major case of labour unrest in his hometown," he added. "The authorities should be encouraging such public-spirited activity, not suppressing it."

China Labour Bulletin calls on the Chongqing police to release Shi Xiaoyu immediately and to cease participating in the official cover-up of the violent police crackdown on 7 October in Chongqing against peacefully demonstrating steel workers.

"Sew-in" in Athens to highlight problems faced by sportswear workers

Athens, August 10, 2004: The Play Fair at the Olympics campaign staged an action in Athens on the eve of the opening of the Olympic games in solidarity with sportswear workers worldwide.

Twenty women gathered on an Athens rooftop to mark a silent protest staged by the Play Fair at the Olympics campaign. Play Fair held a "sew-in", featuring "faceless" activists, operating sewing machines against the backdrop of the Acropolis.

The action was staged in order to highlight the appalling working conditions experienced by hundreds of thousands of workers in the sportswear industry. They face punishing work schedules, poverty wages, harassment and discrimination on a daily basis.

Spokespersons from the campaign commented that improvements had been seen in the sportswear sector, but serious problems still exist, and much more needs to be done to ensure workers' right are respected in this global industry. They also announced that the IOC had declined to accept over half a million signatures from campaign supporters in Athens.

To see photos from the stunt Launched on March 4, 2004 by Oxfam, the Clean Clothes Campaign and Global Unions, the Play Fair at the Olympics campaign is one of the largest ever worldwide mobilizations against sweatshops. The rooftop event was part of a wider mobilization in the run up to the games.

Other actions include a regional workers' Olympics in Thailand and a journey made by 27 cyclists from Belgium to Greece in support of the campaign.

MILAT WAS FRAMED FOR TOURISM $$$$$

AND THE WINNER IS? NOT IVAN MILAT!

The bodies of seven backpackers were discovered at the Belanglo Forest in 1992. The victims were German, British and Australian origin.

Australia at the time of the discoveries was well advanced in its bid for the Olympic Games to be held here in year 2000.

The murders were headlines overseas. The State government's public relations machine swung into action. An unprecedented $500,000 reward was offered for the heads of the perpetrators. (Commonsense says there was more than one assailant). Head of the International Olympic Committee, Juan Samaranch, was questioning whether Australia was a safe place to visit.

During 1989, a British backpacker, Paul Onions was the victim of a botched hold-up on the Hume Highway near the Belanglo Forest. Onions gave a lengthy and detailed description of the robber to Bowral police. The statement Onions gave to police at that time has not been seen since. The description of Onion's attacker, according to some surviving police notes would exonerate Ivan Milat from the crime. Onion's, at Milat's trial, swore that Ivan Milat was the man who attempted to rob him.

Milat was arrested at his home on 24th May, 1994, by a posse called Task Force Ayr from Chatswood Police led by Clive Small.

Among items seized from Milat's home was a part of a Ruger rifle. Some years later, acting on information police dredged up a sway of guns and gun parts from the Hawkesbury River. It is easy to believe that these items had been, or would be used as "throwdowns" in frame-ups. A Ruger rifle had been used to kill the victims at Belanglo.

At Ivan Milat's trial justice was not seen to be done. An old Victorian court was refurbished at a cost of $750,000. There was only space enough for 35 members of the public. The press and other media sources were "duchessed". Representatives of the overseas media were well in attendance. Australia by the time of Milat's trial had won the right to stage the 2000 Olympic games. The show trial needed to show the prospective International punters that Australia was a safe place to visit.

The press and electronic media have not let up on Mr Milat. Nor will they.

The powers cannot have the truth known as to why Ivan Milat was framed.

Innocent until proven guilty? Not in Australia's outback!
There is no way that Bradley John Murdoch can get a fair trial in the Northern Territory. The entire jury pool is already contaminated, the general public have accepted the verdict of the Northern Territory News and the NT Police State has turned on the cone of silence. Maybe some of the reporters might want to ask Director of Public Prosecutions Rex Wilde QC just how he is going to secure a conviction when a body has not been found. Surely the NT bureaucracy learnt from the Lindy Chamberlain case that it is not a good idea to jail someone for murder when you haven't got a body. Maybe they have the same people working on the case. The NT Police forensic team certainly do.

Taken "A Dingo Took My Baby!"

Woman linked to Four Corners worked at Sydney Airport: JI

Parody: New airport security concerns have been raised by reports that a woman believed by JI to be associated with Four Corners worked as a baggage handler at Sydney's international terminal.

Local Muslims said the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) report alleging Sally Neighbour from John Howard's ABC who trained in Australia in 1998 and worked for Four Corners [Walls] shortly before the 2000 Olympic Games.

The ABC says she still works there.

JI alleges Sally Neighbour who is a reporter for Four Corners [Walls] now producer's propaganda and discrimination for the Australian government and was planning attacks on Malaysian interests in Venezuela and the Philippines.

The New South Wales secretary of the Transport Workers Union Tony Sheldon, says it is evidence more needs to be done to boost security at major and regional terminals.

"I think this report last night highlights the sort of problems that we've got, there has been very little operational changes at the airports, and there's a need for tougher and more responsive government action and that means spending money."

Ms Neighbour has been investigated by Malaysia authorities, but no charges have ever been laid.

NSW Police Force may get 'special powers'

Civil libertarians are questioning the need for further anti-terrorism laws, which will be announced in the New South Wales Parliament on Tuesday.

The Premier, Bob Carr, says the measures are designed to give police increased ability to respond in the event of a specific terrorist threat against Sydney.

[Actually measures are designed to bolster support and quell dissent for the Coalition of the Killing's resource war's in the Middle East.]

Carr says he will consult with civil libertarians about their concerns.

Spokesman for the New South Wales Council for Civil Liberties David Bernie, has welcomed Mr Carr's willingness to consult but says the laws are probably unnecessary.

"Under the existing laws there's already adequate power for police to arrest anybody on reasonable suspicion, so given what's been announced, I doubt the need for those laws," he said.

The New South Wales Government is seeking to introduce new laws expanding police powers to deal with terrorism. [Actually measures are designed to bolster support and quell dissent for the Coalition of the Killing's resource war's in the Middle East.]

The laws may also seek to reinstate special powers, granted during the Olympics, which allow the State Government to request the Commonwealth station armed forces at potential terrorist targets. [Potential false flag operations.] Those targets may include power stations and water treatment plants.

A spokesperson for Justice Action, and also a member of 'Keep An Eye Out For Martians Mr George Jetson said "Well we don't have the force to fight Martians so what good is it giving NSW Police more power?"

"Special powers? Now that could be worth looking at," he said.

In line with the current climate of police corruption and the demise of the reform unit set up by Wood, these facts ought to have been a good reason to leave Moroney out of the package as Commissioner.

Bob down and sniff my arse
These are serious invasions of privacy and draconian laws? Where are our democratic soldiers, the lawyers and the barristers who need to take on the government in the courts? Are they plastic? "You don't have, in my view very vigilant processes. I suppose it's akin to the problem of corruption within the police," he told the ABC radio. " People say there's corruption with the police (but) do you get the police to investigate problems within their own ranks?

Deeds
I am disturbed by Governments 'actions' in relation to shuffling the police service. Clive Small seconded into Parliament like a cocky in a perch. A breach of the fundamental Separation of Powers Doctrine does not in my view allow the thought of intervening, planning, or shuffling to stack the deck of our police service. The one that suppose to be autonomous according to Lord Denning. Where the Parliamentary Secretary can ask the commissioner of police to 'report' then sack him if he is not satisfied with such report.

Truth
Who is telling the truth? Well I guess Dr. Ed. Chadbourne or Mr. Peter Ryan may have the answer to that. Dr. Chadbourne sacked by Peter Ryan and more specifically in my view because he elected deputy commissioners Dave Madden and Andrew Scipione as the best men in the service in relation to his qualifications to make a recommendation in his capacity as human resources. That is if you believe that a Dr. can be corrupted.

Honesty
What is happening between the Police Service and politics is quite extraordinary at the moment. If stand over tactics don't work tell half the truth honestly and follow the example of sheep. Another word for it is sleaze, yeah. Another word for it is workplace harassment. Another word for it is bribing a Police Officer. Another word for it is misleading Parliament.

Tele Tales
Most people I know don't buy the Daily Telegraph. Why? Because of the lies and propaganda purported by them.

Lord Denning
Interesting how a member of the Police Board Mr. Tim Priest would hold grave fears for his safety from dangerous senior police but fails to name them or have them sacked. Rather Priest resigns as if he had no powers. Could that mean what he was saying is that the Governments are also corrupt?

Corrosive
Clive Small is Bob Carr's choice for the new Police Commissioner. It could only be the case considering his, Small's special appointment into Parliament House. Small who suffers from the little person syndrome is the ideal bend over boy who gets shuffled through his corrupt actions. Rolling the legal system for him after the fact, just like his predecessor Roger the dodger Rogerson.

Black Nexus
The Separation of Powers Doctrine is nowcontaminated witharangeofcolours, now leaving us with a black shirt on a once blue bridge that crossed that thin blue line. The 'Amery and Woodham show'.

Same boat
The Premier, Bob Carr, relies on a militia. A gang of bikies and our Police Service, to show all of us he is no murderer. He should be taken to the task along with his partners in crime like Clive Small to account for those people who like my self have been maliciously assaulted and who have complained, without any service and those who cannot speak for themselves who were murdered, like Terry Falconer. Terry murdered in custody.

Good Cop
Why have our democratic institutions broken down? It's not just the criminal justice system. The Anti-Corruption Network webmaster@anti-corruption-network.org exposes the same issues. A group of white-collar workers who say they have suffered as follows:

You have to have the inside story when the likes of the Daily Telegraph again pushing the propaganda, the alleged choice between acting Commissioner Ken Moroney and Small. Carr want's people who are totally corrupt working along side him. His idea? To corrupt our government policies. Nice bribe with Ryan in fact I am sure that bribing a police officer carries a reasonable sentence in itself.

How about mandatory sentences for corrupt politicians? Those who have a greater onus to uphold the law and set an example for the wider community. Those who know better in terms of their education. That is except when it comes to greed. SMH April 12 2002 Stephen Gibbs reports "Then as we came into the Olympics something went wrong. And I do not know what that was". Says Doctor Weatherburn. That period leading up to the 2000 Games is the time Mr Ryan has been accused of "taking his eye off the ball" in areas including Cabramatta and other suburbs in Sydney's south-west.

The opinion from Mr. Tim Priest and the Police Board is that dangerous people still lurk at the top of the Police Service. The NSW Opposition pushed for the former policeman's reinstatement because of new allegations of drugs and gang activities in schools in Sydney's south-west.

Shadow Police Minister Andrew Tink says when Priest last year aired allegations of gangs recruiting school students to the drug trade, they were dismissed, SMH 25 March 2002. Priest knows who the dangerous police are. Then why has nothing been done except for lining them up for the top job.

Questions like. Who was pushing the green light on heroin? Even after and no doubt throughout the Royal Commission into Police Corruption. How does all this reflect on Justice James Wood? Should Justice Wood himself become the new Police Commissioner?
