Palestinians hit by sonic-boom air raids

Israel is deploying a terrifying new tactic against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip by letting loose deafening "sound bombs" that cause widespread fear, induce miscarriages and traumatise children.

The removal of Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip opened the way for the military to use air-force jets to create dozens of sonic booms by breaking the sound barrier at low altitude, sending shockwaves across the territory, often at night. Palestinians liken the sound to an earthquake or huge bomb. They describe the effect as being hit by a wall of air that is painful on the ears, sometimes causing nosebleeds and "leaving you shaking inside".

The Palestinian health ministry says the sonic booms have led to miscarriages and heart problems. The United Nations has demanded an end to the tactic, saying it causes panic attacks in children. The shockwaves have also damaged buildings by cracking walls and smashing thousands of windows.

"I have never heard such a loud explosion. I thought it was right over the top of my building," said the owner, Tareq Dayyeh. "Sometimes you hear the rockets the Israelis fire, but this was different. I felt like I was in the middle of a bomb. When I ran out the door, I thought I might find the rest of the street was gone."

Over the past week, Israeli jets created 28 sonic booms by flying at high speed and low altitude over the Gaza Strip, sometimes as little as an hour apart through the night. During five days in late September, the air force caused 29 sonic booms.

A senior Israeli army intelligence source, who the military would not permit to be named, said the tactic is intended to break civilian support for armed Palestinian groups.

"We are trying to send a message in a way that doesn't harm people. We want to encourage the Palestinian public to do something about the terror situation," he said. "What are the alternatives? We are not like the terrorists who shoot civilians. We are cautious. We make sure nobody is really hurt."

On Wednesday, two medical human rights groups asked the Tel Aviv High Court to outlaw the use of sound bombs on the grounds it amounts to illegal collective punishment and is detrimental to health.

"The stress is phenomenal," said Eyad El Sarraj, a psychologist and director of Gaza Community Mental Health Programme, one of the groups filing the petition. "The Israelis do it after midnight and then every one or two hours. You try to go to sleep and then there's another one. When it happens night after night, you become exhausted. You get a heightened sense of alert, waiting continuously for it to happen. People suffer hypertension, fatigue, sleeplessness.

"For children, the loud noise means danger. Adults may know it's only a sound, but small children feel threatened. They are crying and clinging to their parents. Afterwards, they are dazed and fearful, waiting for something to happen."

The UN Palestinian refugee agency said a majority of the patients seen at its clinics as a result of the sonic booms were under 16 and suffering from symptoms such as anxiety attacks, bedwetting, muscle spasms, temporary loss of hearing and breathing difficulties.

Although the Israelis say the shockwaves do not cause casualties, doctors at Gaza's Shifa hospital said the overflights have forced women to miscarry. The number of miscarriages has increased by 40%, according to Jumaa Saqqa, a surgeon and hospital spokesperson.

"There were no other symptoms and the rise happened after the sonic booms. We can see no other explanation. The number of patients admitted to the cardiac care unit doubled. Some of them proved to have suffered serious harm."

Saqqa said one overflight occurred while he was operating. The Palestinian health ministry estimates the sonic booms have caused at least 20 miscarriages.

The UN's Middle East envoy, Alvaro de Soto, wrote to the Israeli high command this week saying he is "deeply concerned at the impact on children, particularly infants, of the use of sonic booms".

De Soto said he does not accept that the tactic is a legitimate response to Islamic Jihad and Hamas firing rockets into Israeli towns.

"Sonic booms are an indiscriminate instrument, the use of which punishes the population collectively. We ask therefore that their use be stopped without delay," the letter said.

The military was forced to apologise after one sonic boom was unintentionally heard hundreds of kilometres inside Israel last week.

Maariv newspaper described it as sounding "like a heavy bombardment. The noise that shook the Israeli skies was frightening. Thousands of citizens leapt in panic from their beds, and many of them placed worried calls to the police and the fire department. The Tel Aviv and central district police switchboards crashed."

For anyone has been following the massive propaganda campaign that has been conducted over the 'evacuation' of settlers in Gaza, one thing is clear; Palestinians are obviously non-people for how else can one explain the gulf between press coverage of the relocation of the settlers with the following statistics

1,719 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip from the end of September 2000 until today; and according to various estimates, some two-thirds of them were unarmed and were not killed in battles or during the course of attempts to attack a military position or a settlement.

Based on figures from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, of those killed, 379 were children under the age of 18; 236 were younger than 16; 96 were women; and 102 were the objectives of targeted liquidations during the course of which the Israel Defense Forces also killed another 95 individuals who, according to the military too, were "innocent" bystanders.

Some 9,000 Gaza residents were injured; 2,704 homes to some 20,000 people were razed by the IDF's bulldozers and assault helicopters; 2,187 were partially destroyed. Some 31,650 dunams of agricultural land were left scorched.

Were such statistics to be about Israelis, again, imagine the clamour in the Western media! Is this Osama bin Laden speaking or the so-called pinnacle of Western civilisation, our 'Judeo-Christian' culture? The parallels with the Nazi concept of 'lebensraum' or loving space is not lost on me even if it is ignored by the Western media.

Instead, Western media coverage continues to misrepresent the reality of the illegal Israeli occupation, so we read in an article titled 'Israeli PM faces West Bank gamble' on the BBC News Website today, 25/8/05

Even as Israeli forces moved in to clear four West Bank settlements, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon reaffirmed his commitment to settlement construction.

Mr Sharon was referring to the large blocs of Ariel and Maale Adumim, and controversial plans for new suburbs linking the latter to Jerusalem.

He has made no secret of his intention to hold on the major West Bank blocs.

No mention of the fact that all the settlements on the West Bank are illegal, instead they are presented to us "controversial". The piece ends once again by placing the responsibility on the Palestinians

Much now depends upon what happens in Gaza.

Will the Palestinians focus on peaceful reconstruction or will radical groups seek to use the abandoned settlements as launch-pads for attacks into Israel?

Will violence simply move from Gaza to the West Bank, where the Israeli Army will still patrol the area of the evacuated settlements?

Thus the issue of the vast bulk of the illegal settlements on the West Bank is neatly sidestepped as the BBC's report is already setting the stage for the next series of hoops that the Palestinians will have to jump through.

Through continually misrepresenting the reality of continued land grabs, not to mention the genocidal policies of Sharon's government in carving up what's left of any putative 'Palestinian state', as being dependent on the actions of Palestinian "radicals", the media avoid the issue of Israel's illegal policies. And in fact, the BBC article, quoted from above, doesn't once mention that the actions of Israel are in fact illegal under international law as well as innumerable UN resolutions going back for thirty years.

What has to be emphasised is the fact that I picked the BBC article pretty well at random, it could have been one of literally dozens of articles from a wide range of 'news' sources, all of whom ignore the fundamental reality of Israel's policies toward the Palestinians and focus instead on how 'unreasonable' the Palestinians are, or how they had to 'curb' the actions of 'radicals' before Israel even conceded to rehousing a mere 2% or so of the 450,000 illegal settlers on what's left of any future Palestine. And note here that unlike the 2700 Palestinian homes destroyed by the Israelis since September 2000, with armoured bulldozers and helicopter gunships, sometimes with the inhabitants still inside, the Israeli settlers will be rehoused (at US taxpayers expense), many on the continually expanding settlements on the West Bank. The same cannot be said of the Palestinians whose lives and livelihoods have been destroyed.

As some reportage has made plain, Gaza is now one big prison instead of four, yet what this means, what it says about Israeli policies toward the Palestinians is still ignored by the mainstream press, even as the words are uttered.

There can only be one explanation for such a deliberate myopia and that is a racism so entrenched in Western news coverage that it can blatantly ignore the awful injustice of Israeli actions and policies. It points once more to something I will continue express 'til I die, that the ideology of racism is a major stumbling block to opening peoples' eyes to what is going on in the world and that until we face this reality, we cannot begin to deal with our rulers actions, let alone our own role in allowing the continuance of such an unjust world.

A senior Palestinian official says Israel has agreed to hand over a West Bank city tomorrow.

The official says "we will assume our security responsibilities in [the West Bank town of] Tulkarem on Tuesday".

Israeli security sources confirmed that such a hand over was being discussed.

But a Defence Ministry official said no date would be set until a meeting of Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Ruddock linked to Israeli diplomat's expulsion

An Israeli diplomat who was expelled from Australia in December has reportedly claimed that his friendship with a daughter of the Federal Attorney General, Philip Ruddock, may have been connected to his departure.

A report in this week's Australian Jewish News says the former diplomat, Amir Laty told Israeli Foreign Ministry officials in Jerusalem that he had been in "close contact" with Caitlin Ruddock.

The newspaper says an invitation for Christmas lunch at the Ruddock's Sydney home was subsequently cancelled after the Australian Government ordered the diplomat's expulsion.

An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman told the newspaper Mr Laty "did nothing wrong".

Mr Ruddock says any acquaintance the Israeli had with his family is "totally irrelevant" to the diplomat's expulsion.

The Federal Opposition has declined to comment on the report.

Labor's foreign affairs spokesman Kevin Rudd says he has been briefed by ASIO but is reluctant to discuss the matter.

"These are sensitive matters and the Opposition is privileged to obtain national security briefings from ASIO," he said.

"I'm not to be in a position of breaching the undertakings we've given to ASIO."

French Health Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy says there is no indication Yasser Arafat was poisoned, although he had no access to medical files on the death of the Palestinian leader.

Mr Arafat was flown from the West Bank to Paris on October 29 suffering from stomach pains, diarrhoea and vomiting. He died in the early hours of November 11 after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

"Nothing in the medical dossier, it seems, has shown that he was poisoned," Douste-Blazy said.

However, he stressed he had not seen the dossier itself either in his capacity as a doctor or a minister.

He says doctors at the military hospital just outside Paris had done everything they could from a medical standpoint to treat 75-year-old Arafat.

Rumours have been rife that he had been suffering from anything from cancer of the stomach to a rare blood disorder. Hamas freedom fighters say he was poisoned by Israel, a theory which Palestinians officials say doctors have ruled out. The head of the Palestinian mission in Paris, Leila Shahid, says poisoning is a possibility, although there was no evidence.

"It's quite possible that they (Israelis) poisoned him, I cannot say that medically we have proof of that," she said.

Hopes of the riddle being solved are slim. The French chief doctor who announced Mr Arafat's death is bound by privacy laws invoked by Mr Arafat's widow, which prevent details being released. Ruling out cancer or poisoning, Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath says doctors had not identified the illness but "we know what it is not".

The Israeli Army has admitted it was wrong to accuse the United Nations of letting its ambulances be used by Palestinian freedom fighters to transport Qassam rockets in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Army admitted it was not certain that the object placed in the back of a UN-marked ambulance in the northern Gaza Strip was a rocket, as it had previously insisted and said its accusations were "made in haste".

"After a thorough review of the material, the nature of the object loaded on the vehicle cannot be determined with certainty. Thus, the determination that the object loaded was a Qassam rocket was too unequivocal and made in haste," the statement said.

Commenting on its rapid widespread distribution of the grainy footage shot from an Israeli drone, the Army said, "lessons learned will be implemented to prevent a recurrence of such an incident in the future".

A diplomatic storm broke out between Israel and the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) earlier this month after the army released grainy footage of what it said was Palestinian freedom fighters loading a Qassam rocket into a vehicle with a UN logo clearly marked on the roof.

After studying the pictures, UNRWA chief Peter Hansen said the pictures showed nothing more than paramedics throwing a folded portable stretcher into the vehicle.

Speaking to the parliament's foreign affairs and defence committee early on Tuesday, the army's official spokeswoman Ruth Yaron also admitted, in slightly clearer language, that the assessment had been wrong.

"It is obvious today, after all the inquiries made into the question, that it wasn't a Qassam rocket," the web site of Israeli daily Haaretz quoted her as telling the committee.

In the affair's wake, Israel immediately lodged a strongly worded protest with the United Nations.

Several days later, a UN team arrived in Israel to investigate the allegations, which sparked a furious war of words that culminated in Israeli demands for Mr Hansen's dismissal on the grounds that he "hates Israel".

Mr Hansen lashed out at Israel in a letter sent to Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, labelling the Israeli accusations as "malicious propaganda" that endangered the lives of UN staff in the Gaza Strip working under deadly conditions during an ongoing army raid into the area.

"It is appalling that, with the serious conflict now raging in the northern Gaza Strip, where UNRWA ambulances are operating in constant danger alongside those of other humanitarian agencies to try and save and transport scores of wounded Palestinians to hospital, the Government of Israel would put out such deliberately inciteful, false and malicious propaganda," Mr Hansen wrote.

Mr Hansen requested an immediate public retraction and apology from the Israeli Government.

But, after nearly a week of insisting the footage showed a militant rocket being loaded into the UN vehicle, Israeli officials last week acknowledged they might have been wrong and withdrew the clip from the official army web site.

GKCNN was unable to reach any UNRWA officials for comment on the public retraction of the allegations.

Earlier, hospital sources said one Palestinian was killed and three others wounded in a strike on a house in Jabaliya, while another man wounded in an air raid on the camp earlier this month has died of his injuries.

"He goes to Laos, Cambodia, Burma and Thailand and deals with gangs that he pays to kill tourists steal their Identity papers passports, most just disappear or their deaths have been reported as accidents, drownings and such, they like to throw their victims off the side of tour boats" said a New Zealand security official Barkan is mostly interested in passports and identity documents, there have been a number of Australian killed for their passports."

Intelligence analysts in New Zealand believe Barkan, a former navy diver in the Israeli IOF, was trying to secure a clean passports for use in Israeli terrorist operations in the region.

Barkan had grown up in Washington as Zev Bruckenstein, where his father was director of religious studies at a synagogue.

The people the Israelis tried to recruit were then given stolen Australian documents, and received money and weapons. The money was provided by Israel directly to the recruits or was transferred from bank accounts in Jerusalem or Israel, said the New Zealand official.

Are you following the developments in the investigation into the October 12, 2002 Bali bombing and what do you think about them?

Well, what clear is, I strongly suspect that the October 12, 2002 Bali bombing in particular and several other bombings in Indonesia in general are part of a series of America's efforts in fighting Islam.

On the first effort: with the bombing America wants to prove that terror really exists in Indonesia. On the second: America wants to build an opinion that the terrorrists who launch terror in Indonesia are Moslems.

Meaning there are in some Islamic boarding schools (unclear). And then, terror in Makassar was linked to the Committee to Uphold Islamic Sharia (KPSI, ed). So that America wants to build opinion that all terrors took place in Indonesia were carried out by Moslems and in the end America wants to build opinion that terrorists are the Moslems, therefore fighting terrorism means fighting the Moslems.

So actually America wants to fight the Moslems and Islam in Indonesia but using the excuse of terrorism so that it wont be openly (seen as fighting Islam) but under the terror camouflage. This is what I understand about the developments of the investigation into the Bali bombing as well as the other (bombing cases).

I know that you get this question all the time. But, are you involved in Jemaah Islamiah? If so, what is your involvement?

Well, I have never been involved in what is called Jemaah Islamiah invented by America. Actually the term Jemaah Islamiah is purposedly invented by America to nail, so that it is easy to accuse Islam and Moslems as being terrorists.

Since Jemaah Islamiah has been stated as a terrorist organization by the UN which is the Americas tool, Americas ally. So that with the idea of Jemaah Islamiah America could build opinion that terror and terrorists are the Moslems. So I never know of Jemaah Islamiah as an organisation as mentioned by America and its allies.

Do you know the people allegedly involved in the Bali bombing especially Imam Samudra, Mukhlas and Amrozi? If yes, how do you know them?

I never know (them). If they know me, it is pretty normal because I am a preacher. And I never feel like I know them until these people appeared on TV and were published by newspapers.

Do you feel and believe that they (Imam Samudra, Muklas and Amrozi) are responsible for the Bali bombing? If not, who do you think is responsible?

A: (I) absolutely don't believe that they are responsible of the bombing in Bali. I still think and strongly suspect the ones who are responsible and the brain of the bombing in Bali are America and Israel.

The proof is, it is impossible for these kind of people namely Imam Samudra or Amrozi or Mukhlas to carry out the bombing that exploded (in Bali). Even it is impossible for TNI and POLRI to make such bomb that exploded in Bali, but those who made it are particular countries such as America and Israel. Therefore I deeply suspect and strongly think and am even convinced that the brain of the bombing is America and Israel.

Have you ever promoted the use of violence when teaching. If not, do you agree with the use of violence for the religious purposes?

A: In principle I teach Islam in accordance to the sharia contained in the Koran and based on the Prophets words and deeds which is the sunna. Islam commands us to live peacefully with all human beings be they Moslem or infidels.

We are commanded to leave peacefully, to do good things and to be fair. There is a verse saying, "Allah does not forbid you to do good and fair thing to infidels who do not fight you and your religion and who do not expel you from your land, Allah actually loves people who are always fair." So, basicaly Islam commands peace however if Islam is fought, its sharia attacked, Allah instructs us not to be at peace with them and instead we have to defend ourselves, fight them, as Allah says in the following verse, "that Allah forbids you to be friends with people who fight you and your religion and who expel you and people who helped them to expel you. It is clear from these two verses, we can draw conclusion that the Islamic teaching is essentially a call for peace but if they are fought, well, it is an obligation to fight back. That is the teaching I taught which is in accordance with the Koran. I always call the Moslems to do good things even to infidels.

We even have to be fair so long they don't disturb the Islamic sharia and fight Islam. But if they fight Islam, the law forbids us to be nice to them, the law forbids us to be friends with them. If they fight Islam, we have to fight them back, it is in accordance with what the Koran teaches. So it is not my teaching, it is not my brain, it is not my opinion but it is all the teachings of Allah SWT and the teachings of His Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Have you ever visited Australia? If you have, which cities and whom did you visit?

A: I have visited Australia a couple of times and the cities I visited are Melbourne, Sydney and the last one was Perth and I have visited Brisbane briefly. I visited Australia because of a Koran reading invitation by the Moslem community there, they are the mosques, Moslem community in those cities. I stayed in their houses, kept moving and I forget who those people are because it was a one-week visit and (I) came back later so that I forget and I did not stay in one place, one house. My purpose of visiting Australia was to accept invitation to give religious speech either during Friday sermon or to attend Koran reading meetings with Indonesian and Malaysian Moslem community.

A: Do you have relationships or network in Australia?

A: No, I dont have any relationships, so when I went to Australia I was wholly dependent on their invitation; if they invited me, well, I would go because they financed all the trips. And if there was no invitation from them I did not go.

What do you think about Australia especially Prime Minister John Howard and his comments that Australia could attack terrorists on foreign soil?

A: About Australia, in general, I think its fine. Australian people, God willing, have no problem with Islam. However, usually, Australian leaders do influence their people a lot to make enemy of Islam, especially the incumbent Prime Minister. Moreover, the incumbent Prime Minister John Howard is the ally of George W. Bush the worst and most evil president in the world. John Howard is his ally. Because lately he has this crazy idea regarding what you asked me about.

So, if John Howards stance is followed by people of Australia, so you have to know, that there will be war in the world and God willing Australia will be destroyed instantly due to the crazy idea of its Prime Minister.

What do you think the impact will be coming from John Howards comment?

The impact is there will be war between nations in the world and Australia will bear the consequences; God willing, Australia will suffer destruction due to that crazy idea.

As a respected religious leader, how do you see the Future of south-east Asian countries?

A: Well, the future of south-east Asian countries will depend on their acceptance of Islamic sharia. Because the south-east Asian nationas are mainly Moslems. I they want to accept Islamic sharia 100% and make it into their law, their future will be safe, prosperous, respected and becoming big and strong nations. But if reject Islamic sharia or follow the Americas and the Jews, the Southeast Asian countries will be the weakest and the poorest countries.

What is your opinion about the bombing tragedy on October 12, 2002 in Bali? Do you condemn the tragedy?

A: About the tragedy, I only based my opinion on the system explained by sharia, so long as the infidels do not fight Islam, we are prohibited to attack and kill them. However, if inidels do want to attack Islam, fight Islam, so we are instructed to fight them.

About the Bali issue, were they infidels, be they Americans, Australians who were there, fighting Islam or not? In my opinion they were simply ordinary tourists, they were only ordinary tourists. So I think they were not supposed to be killed but they have to be visited and advised, preached so that they would have not committed such sinful thing. This is my opinion.

What is your opinion about the opinion of Australia and other non-Moslem countries about you? What sort of opinion do you wish (people will think about you)?

A: In my opinion, the opinion of Australia and other infidel countries about me is generally following the stance of the United States government's position. What is clear is, the United States government's opinion about me is that I am enemy for them because I am regarded as the man who loves and is most active in upholding Islamic sharia.

That is the opinion of the United States government and the countries who follow it. Among others is Australia government, so they hate me a lot because I am regarded as the most active in upholding Islamic sharia. I am accused of being terrorist without evidence. That is really their style and way of making enemy of somebody. About what opinion I wish to have, I think, is to have an opinion that is fair; I am trully active and want to uphold Islamic sharia. That is my right and obligation as a Moslem. The infidels should actually be fair in looking at it just like I am fair in looking at the infidels.

If I preach to the infidels to convert to Islam and they dont want to, I will respect their stance. So long that they don't disturb Islam, I will not disturb them.

I'm ready to live peacefully with them, help each other in this worldly affairs. If they don't want to convert to Islam that's because they have not received any guidance. So I have to be fair with them and so they have to be fair with me. So if I am active in upholding Islam that is my obligation and rights. They should have respected it. This is what I expect.

Do you want to convey any message to your followers in Australia and all over the world?

I don't have followers in Australia, you should know that I don't have followers in Australia. But I have Muslim brothers in Australia and all over the world.

Especially to Muslim brothers in Australia or those living in other infidel countries like America and Europe, be you active in peacefully spreading Islam as the Koran guides. Allah SWT spoke in the Koran, advising us, in preaching to infidels: "Tell the infidels wisely to come to your God and with good advice and teach them to have discussions in good manner." This is the Koran's guidance, our way to

preach to infidels to convert to Islam. That is with wisdom and by having good manner of discussion with them. So there is no, there should not be the way of violence as long as they don't fight us. This is my message to the Muslim brothers be they living in Australia or those living in infidel countries. Be relentless in preaching, help them, save them, so that they will go back to the Allah way in a wise and good advise.

Do you believe that suicide bombing is a noble thing or jihad?

A: Well, the martyr's bomb is a noble thing, it's a jihad of high value if we are forced to do, for instance in Palestine, there is no other way to defend ourselves or to defend Islam. All ulama agree to martyr's bomb, because we're forced, there is no other way to defend ourselves and to defend Islam. Just like my Muslim brothers in Palestine in facing Israel, they are forced to do such thing because of the unequal of weapons. While Israel gets its weapons supplied by Allah's enemy, the American government, while the Palestinians don't have weapons that have the capacity to fight, so there is no other way but the way of martyr's bomb. It is honorable because in Islam if it is attacked we are obliged to defend ourselves and attack people who attack Islam. In Islam there is no word for hands-up, there is no word for surrender, there are only two things, win or diepe.

What will happen to you in the future, do you think?

A: I don't know what will happen to me in the future because my fate is in the hands of Allah SWT. But I believe that my actions and steps are correct and righted by Allah and Prophet. Should I suffer through slander by the Indonesian government as an order from the terrorist government of America, I have to be patient in going through this. As of the future, about my fate, I have no idea how Allah will do about it. But I'm hopeful that my future will be a good future, blessed by Allah SWT especially when I die; a death blessed by Allah SWT.

If you are indicted as being involved in the bombing in Bali, what do you think the world's reaction would be?

A: I have no idea about the world's reaction because if I am indicted as being involved in Bali bombing, it is clearly an invention. Should that happen, the reaction, my guess, is that the infidel countries especially the terrorist government of America and its allies will be happy. Because they are successful in stopping me forever because the infidel countries in particular the leaders don't want to have me living within the society so that I can preach about upholding Islamic sharia.

So, if later I am indicted as baing involved in the Bali case, my calculation is, the infidel countries such as the American government, British government, Australian government and the Singaporean government and their allies will be happy. But I believe that God will touch the hearts of the Moslems to fight against the injustice.

About this Bali issue, if the government and the police are brave to indict me, it shows such a harsh and barbaric engineering that knows no rule at all. Because I don't know anything about this Bali case.

Do you still have a wish to visit Australia? If not, why?

A: Yes, of course, I still want to visit Australia on condition that the purpose is solely for preaching and invited to preach and that I am safe. But if the situation is still like it is right now, for sure, I will not leave Indonesia because I will be slandered by the Australian government who is the ally of the evil government of America.

What do you think about Imam Samudra, Mukhlas and Amrozi? Do you think God will always protect them?

A: They are all Moslems, all of them are. Hopefully Allah guard them. If they are really guilty, hopefully Allah will forgive them from their mistakes or punish them in accordance to their mistakes. This is my opinion. I don't know, their fate is in the hands of Allah. What clear is, they are Moslems and based on their own confession they committed such thing to fight injustice especially the American government's crime and injustice towards the Moslems in Indonesia.

Is there anything you want to convey to Australia, to the Moslems and non-Moslems A: My message to my Moslem brothers in Australia, keep active in spreading Islam, preaching Islam peacefully in Australia in accordance to Allah's guidance. That is by being wise and giving good advice and invite them to have discussions in good manner, discussions that suit their way. Don't force them to convert to Islam. Give them time to think until they really understand Islam well so that they will convert to Islam in a good way. So that they convert to Islam because they believe it, because of the truth and not because of being forced. You have to know that Moslems are prohibited to softly and strongly force infidels to convert to Islam. This is my message to my Moslem brothers in Australia. My message to God's servants who are still infidels, who haven't converted to Islam, please study Islam and try to cultivate Islam so that you are safe.
