But he had to be found guilty of his alleged involvement in some alleged treasonous plot?
Now said to have allegedly brought down the Indonesian Government and of immigration fraud for allegedly using a false document.
Slap on the wrist because he was used like a scapegoat not just by his own government but Australia who should immediately stop meddling in Indonesian affairs.
He has been sentenced to four years in prison including time already served, meaning he will be released from jail in just less than three years. But God is great and he will take care of this old man because he is good. Anyone who opposes God will be dealt with by God.

The hide to pick on a leader, an elder of the church, and blame this learned man for terror.

Prosecutors had finished the four-month court case demanding a 15-year sentence. Bashir sat showing no emotion as the lighter sentence was delivered. He immediately instructed his lawyers to prepare an appeal, describing the conviction as cruel. Bashir's chief defence lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution says the cleric has a valid case for an appeal."We feel it's a very cruel punishment, due to the fact that he didn't do anything wrong. He is fighting, he admitted, but not with violence," he said.
Sentence too tough?
Australia's Foreign Minister, [war criminal], Alexander Downer should be convicted of treason using Australia's resources to ear bash Bashir, a cleric in another country, and lying to the Australian people to serve his own ideology, which was grossly wrong.

As Foreign Minister you have a responsibility to the Australian people to be impartial and objective instead of vindictive in relation to our close neighbours.Downer is the type of person who would welcome Bashir's conviction, and would probably say that Bashir should received a longer prison sentence for being totally innocent. [War criminal], Downer would probably say the Australian Government expected he would have been jailed for up to 12 years.
But this is a person who needs to go to jail to see what jail is like and whether innocent people should go there, or at the very least guilty people. This is a horrible person my friends a person who has a stereotypical ideology "personality disorder" incurable at that, and shows no remorse.
He would probably still say there is no doubt Bashir is a key figure in JI? He would still hold on to the delusion in his mind and say he thinks all the victims of the [CIA, call to arms, false flag], Bali bombings can still foster false evidence because they have a vision. Downer would most likely still depend on innocent victims to support him, because he cannot support himself. Downer would attempt to use the victim's misery to prove a delusion in his mind.
He'd have an expectation or the result like a soothsayer and hold on to the conviction as some type of righteous mentor who had a delusion of how many years Bashir would get, so he could get out of looking totally politically stupid as foreign minister. Downer would argue that the conviction is encouraging, because he would say it shows Indonesia is increasingly committed to cracking down on terrorism?
Labor's Kevin Rudd is not much brighter and has said Bashir should have received harsher punishment. "It is an inadequate sentence for an individual who based on all the evidence that was presented to me in Jakarta last week is the head of Jemaah Islamiah."
