Family First Senate role worries Faulkner

Labor's outgoing Senate leader, John Faulkner, has expressed concern about how members of the Family First party will vote on legislation in the Senate. Senator Faulkner has announced he is moving to the backbench after more than eight years as Senate Leader.

Family First is being tipped to win the sixth Senate spot in Victoria, which remains undecided.

In an interview with Radio National's Phillip Adams, Senator Faulkner said he is worried about the way Family First will make its decisions.

"I'm fearful that if the Family First Senators are elected, they won't worry to much about the detail of the legislation, they'll probably just go and vote with the Government," he said.
