Council chair Abd Malak says there have been similar incidents at five other Australian universities, as well as several Sydney high schools in recent months.
Mr Malak says he wants to see the legislation changed to speed up the legal process of convicting offenders.
"It will take years to get a result and at the same time allow the person doing the wrong thing to continue doing these sorts of things for a couple of years before any remedy to stop it, it's meaning the victim to suffer a couple of years before any current remedy can be achieved," he said.
