The Federal Treasurer Pastor Peter Costello has seized on "nonsense" allegedly an official report into the dealings of Liverpool Council to again claim that Labor leader Mark Latham is not up to the job of Prime Minister.
But what happened to values, morals, principals, and ethics? What about truth, justice, and human rights?
Just where do they fit in to Costello's formula? The "good Pastor" who really wants a "Costello" and "Abbott" government.
Morals consist of political morals, commercial morals, ecclesiastical morals, and morals. (More Maxims of Mark, Johnson, 1927).
Abbott's honest? Revelation came a day after Labor leader Mark Latham told reporters he had used cannabis, but at least he was honest.
Abbott said: "Ah I had ah a puff on ahh marijuana cigarette when I was a student."
That I can believe!
Ah, I don't ah inhale ah normal cigarettes ah let alone illegal cigarettes ... I'm ah afraid in this ah matter Bill Clinton and ah I have ah something in common."
Yeah! You lie!
Treasurer Peter Costello says the report proves what he has been saying for months.
"This council eventually ended up in financial administration. If you can't run a council, you can't run the country," he said.
It's my opinion that every one I know has morals, though I wouldn't like to ask. I know I have. But I'd rather teach them than practice them any day. "Give them to others"--that's my motto. ("Morals and Memory" speech).
Mr Latham: "You can only bring down your debt servicing ratio from 17 to 10 per cent through good financial management," he said.
"The fact that it went back up to 12 per cent in the two years after I'd left the council is an indication that those problems emerged at that time," he said.
Mr Latham says that is clearly reflected in the report.
Most people would argue that Australia eventually ended up going to an "illegal war on Iraq". If you can't tell the "truth" and uphold "International Law" or "repent" for making a "huge blunder" then you can't run the country.
I'm sure we can get Mr Latham an "accountant" to do Costello's job because Howard and Costello are morally bankrupt. That means this treasurer is more likely than not to lie, be corrupt and put his hand in his pocket. Has anyone checkout his fortune lately?
Well I'm a fortune teller and I can tell you that even if you gave us the figures Costello, how could we ever believe you?
