Americans given deficit of Carr's spin?

Bob Carr joined Richard Butler and other corporate and political leaders to discuss how the rest of the world views the US as well as the superpower's role in the world. [Brain-dead and totalitarian!!]

NSW's globetrotting Premier needs a mouthwash while on holiday, writes Spin A Winner 4 August 03

Bob Carr's frustrated ambition to become an Australian foreign minister is self-perpetuating and widely known because of his totalitarian ideology in Australia and particularly in the State of New South Wales.

But does the States Premier need to wash out his mouth with soap? One benefit that may have is that it may lead to preventing him lying to NSW Parliament and the electorate when he gets back.

The Premier seems to have managed to fulfil his life-time goal using his personal holidays to strut the international stage. Carr, accompanied by his wife, Helena, on a private trip to the United States over the past fortnight has visited Aspen, Colorado, to address and take part in the annual Fortune 500 Brainstorm conference.

He joined Richard Butler and other corporate and political leaders to discuss how the rest of the world views the US as well as the superpower's role in the world.

But why do you need to brainstorm in order to discuss how the rest of the world views the US, when just two words sums it up. Brain-dead and totalitarian.

Among those invited were the US Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, the former US secretary of state Madeleine Albright, the former general and potential Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark, the president of Harvard University, Lawrence Summers, and the editor-in-chief of the German news magazine Der Spiegel, Stefan Aust.

As GKCNN noted with Carr and his cronies: "Lots of spin." Spin is the politically correct word for lying. But when you use spin in the electorate or even at a brainstorming conference then you don't end up with answers that will help you solve the problem. What you end up with, is how to make the problem ten times worse.

The gabfest also attracted some glamorous types, including the playwright/professor/West Wing star, Anna Deavere Smith, Queen Noor of Jordan, and the Hollywood producer Brian Grazer, who is Ron Howard's film-making partner.

A senior editor of Fortune, David Kirkpatrick,
said the conference aimed to bring pre-eminent thinkers [?] from all walks of life [?] together and to "listen to perspectives we don't regularly encounter".

The Aspen Institute dedicates itself to encouraging "informed dialogue and inquiry on issues of global concern". [PNAC?, NWO? AMIC? (Google it)] Its headquarters are in Washington, and it has campuses in Aspen and on the Wye River in Maryland.

Later, Mr Carr managed to indulge his penchant for American political history, meeting the former president Bill Clinton, the former CIA director James Woolsey, the governor of Colorado, Bill Owens who has become a friend and the Governor of Utah, Mike Levitt, with whom he reportedly had long talks about the experience of hosting an Olympic Games.

But if you want to know what Carr actually said during his discussion session or his views on the US's role in the world or its foreign policies you will have to wait until he comes back and ask him. His staff said he did not pre-prepare a speech; nor did he leave behind any notes that would at least give a clue.

CLUE: Do you want to know what he actually said during his discussion session? Then wait until he washes his mouth with soap.
