An Australian 'human shield' who has fled Iraq into neighbouring Jordan has described the sight of bombed out buildings and distraught Iraqis as "sickening".
Donna Mulhearn, from the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, says she and four other human shields left Baghdad yesterday and arrived in the Jordanian capital Amman last night. She says as they fled, angry Iraqis were pleading for the bombing to stop."The last major town before the border had suffered greatly under military attacks," she said.
"Ten, 12, maybe even more of their buildings throughout the town had been blown away.
"It was quite devastating to see the town. Some passed through it without any problems but we noted that the Iraqi people were very, very angry."
