Racial Justice Day 2005

BACKGROUND

On Sunday April 17th, ex-NYPD officer Francis Livoti will be released from a North Carolina prison after serving time for violating the civil rights of Anthony Baez in 1994.

Religious congregations across the city will have services of remembrance & resistance, as a reminder to us all that police violence & brutality are real and continuing threats to the safety of communities throughout NYC and the nation.

On MONDAY APRIL 18th, JOIN US to:

Remember those who have been killed & brutalized by the NYPDs Racist/ Sexist/ Transphobic/ Homophobic/ anti-youth/ anti- immigrant policing practices.

Remember generations and communities being criminalized Remember families and communities that continue to survive and resist violence and brutality.

Demand an end to the policies & practices that continue to target communities of color, youth, immigrants, LGBTST people, homeless and low-income people!
